Hernandez unable to play for upto a month because of an ankle injury

Javier Hernandez will be out of action for three – four weeks after sustaining an injury during Manchester United’s 1 – 0 victory against Aston Villa earlier this month.

The Mexican was one of three players that had to leave the pitch in the game, with two members of the Villa team also geting hurt.

It is believed that the forward has damaged ligaments in his ankle and will be required to wear an ankle support for a few weeks, after getting his foot caught in the turf at Villa Park early on in the match.

Hernandez’s injury means the United team is critically exhausted. With Hernandez joining other forwards Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov in being off the pitch, the team looks like they are struggling up front and midfielders Anderson and Tom Cleverley are also still unable to play.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told the BBC: “We’re having a bad time with injuries at present – it’s just as well we’ve a strong squad.”
